Ingredients (Serves 2–3):

  • Raw or semi-ripe papaya – 1 cup (peeled, deseeded, grated or finely chopped)

  • Tomato – 1 small (finely chopped)

  • Onion – 1 small (finely chopped)

  • Green chili – 1 (finely chopped, optional)

  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp

  • Roasted cumin powder – ½ tsp

  • Black salt – ½ tsp

  • Chaat masala – ½ tsp

  • Salt – to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves – 2 tbsp (chopped)

  • Pomegranate seeds – 2 tbsp (optional)

  • Roasted peanuts – 2 tbsp (for crunch, optional)

Method:

  • Prep the Papaya:

    • Wash, peel, and deseed the papaya.

    • Grate it or cut into small cubes, depending on preference.

  • Mix the Chaat:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine papaya, chopped onion, tomato, green chili, and pomegranate seeds if using.

  • Add Spices:

    • Sprinkle roasted cumin, chaat masala, black salt, and regular salt.

    • Add lemon juice and mix gently.

  • Garnish & Serve:

    • Add chopped coriander and roasted peanuts on top for crunch.
