Many people believe that healthy babies resulting in healthy individuals are directly proportionate to the intake of milk in one’s childhood, and as the world gears up to celebrate World Milk Day on 1 June, we at FarmLokal wish to remind you of your origins.

This year’s theme for World Milk Day, 2025, is: “Let’s Celebrate the Power of Dairy.” And India is already on the wagon, celebrating the immense power of dairy as it's a global leader in milk production. The top milk-producing states in India are Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra and the transformation in the dairy circuit that is currently underway is proof of the fact that people are more invested in becoming nutritious and health-conscious in an intentional way.

FarmLokal, a private enterprise based out of Uttar Pradesh, is rooted in a legacy of reviving childhood memories of Indian dairy farming. It focuses on delivering organic, pesticide-free, A2-certified desi cow and buffalo milk, and other fresh dairy products directly to the homes of our customers. FarmLokal emphasizes traditional farming practices for pest management, thereby maintaining an organic and chemical-free environment. Our mission is to provide 100% pure and organic desi cow and buffalo milk, and other related products, aiming to become the go-to marketplace for each family who is nostalgic about the quality of dairy products from their childhood. While we always aim to promote healthy habits towards consuming milk, we also would want to stress on milk wastage. It remains a primary concern. Here are 5 easy ways to reduce milk wastage at home.

Store Right: Always refrigerate milk below 4°C. Use glass or steel containers and avoid keeping it on the kitchen counter in summer.

Make Fresh Curd: Convert leftover milk into curd daily. It’s healthy, probiotic-rich, and a staple in every Indian meal.

Cook Paneer at Home: Slightly sour milk? Perfect for making fresh paneer!

Make Ghee: Boil milk into malai, churn into butter, and simmer to get pure homemade ghee.

Freeze or Share: Freeze excess milk or share it with neighbours, just like the good old days!

With FarmLokal, every drop is worth preserving, so let us respect our farmers, and our cows and buffaloes, by valuing every drop of milk on this World Milk Day.
