Farmlokal FAQ

Clean Animal Housing and Milking Environment

  • Dairy sheds are regularly cleaned and disinfected before each milking session to minimize contamination risks.

  • Proper ventilation and clean bedding are maintained to keep animals healthy and reduce bacterial growth.

Animal Health and Cleanliness

  • Cows and buffaloes are kept clean, with special attention paid to washing and sanitizing udders and teats before every milking.

  • Animals showing any signs of disease, especially udder infections, are milked separately and their milk is not mixed with the main supply.

Farmer and Worker Hygiene

  • Farmers wash their hands and forearms thoroughly with soap and water before and during milking, and wear clean clothing at all times.

  • Smoking, use of perfumes, and other potential sources of contamination are strictly prohibited in the milking area.

  • Workers or farmers with communicable diseases are not allowed to handle milk.

Equipment Sanitation

  • All milking equipment, including cans and pails, are cleaned with detergents and sanitized before and after every use.

  • Equipment is air-dried in a clean area to prevent bacterial growth..

Milking Practices

  • Teats are cleaned with potable water and dried with a clean towel before milking.

  • Wet milking is avoided, and teats may be dipped in a mild bactericide after milking to prevent infections.

  • The milking process is carried out efficiently to minimize the time milk is exposed to the environment.

Milk Handling and Cooling

  • Milk is strained through a clean muslin cloth or strainer immediately after milking to remove debris.

  • Rapid cooling of milk is practised to slow bacterial growth before delivery to FarmLokal’s customers.

  • Milk is stored in seamless stainless steel or aluminium cans, which are easier to clean and sanitize.

Transportation

  • Milk is delivered in covered, sanitized containers, protected from direct sunlight and heat to preserve freshness and hygiene.

These rigorous hygiene protocols ensure that the milk supplied to FarmLokal’s customers is clean, safe, and of the highest quality, supporting the brand’s commitment to delivering fresh, organic milk directly from local farms to consumers in Noida and Greater Noida.Got any more questions?
