Bora Rice - 1 kg - One pack of Bora Rice
₹90
Bora rice, called bora saul in Assamese and bora chawal in Hindi, is the glutinous (sticky) rice of Assam. When cooked, the grains turn soft, sticky and slightly sweet, which sets it apart from everyday rice. In English it is known as sticky rice or glutinous rice. Assamese homes use bora rice for pitha, the rice cakes made during Bihu, and for jolpan, where the rice is soaked or steamed and eaten with curd and jaggery. It also suits kheer and other sweet rice dishes, and as per the seller it can be used in savoury dishes such as pulao and sticky rice salads. Soak the rice for a few hours before cooking for the best texture. This Janani bora rice is sold by Janani Asomi Mahila Farmers Producer Company Limited, a women farmers' producer company in Assam. Store it in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. Available in a 1 kg pack, delivered across India.
